This week Booking Through Thursday ask:All things being equal (money, space, etc), would you rather own copies of the books you read? Or borrow them?
I have always had the dream of owning my own library. It dates back to when I was a kid. My grandmother was a reader and brought a lot of books. She use to have books shelved in milk crates that lined the landing of the stairs. Whenever I walked up and down the stairs all I would see is books housed in their square plastic crates. I think because of that experience I have a desire to have my own collection.
Maybe one day.
My grandmother also nurtured my love of books! She also got me into the habit of owning...especially after she signed me up for the Boxcar Children book club where I got three books all my own every month!

@JessiMy grandmother signed me up for The Boxcar Children book club, too. I loved getting the books every month. That set was the first time that I actually looked forward to reading.
ReplyDeleteAhhh....the dream of owning one's own library! I totally relate. I even did a post on my book blog not long ago that just consisted of pictures of gorgeous home libraries!
